About Boots on the Ground
Supporting First Responders with Compassionate Peer Support
First Responders face unique challenges and stresses that can be difficult for others to understand. Recognizing this, Boots on the Ground offers an anonymous helpline staffed entirely by volunteer current and former First Responders, including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, corrections officers, emergency dispatch operators, military personnel, and veterans.
Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this service provides a safe space for First Responders to talk to someone who has experienced similar situations. The organization is not a replacement for professional therapy but serves as a first point of contact, offering understanding, support, and resources to those in need.
Founded by retired police officer Dave McLennan, Boots on the Ground is a registered charitable organization run entirely by dedicated volunteers committed to supporting their peers.
